Glenisla Course
9 Hole Golf Course
Alyth Golf Club is home to two courses, Alyth (18 holes) and Glenisla (9 holes).
In 2016, the Club took on the back 9 holes of the original Glenisla course, creating a challenging 9 hole course (3078 yards, Par 35) with the option to play 18 holes from different tees (6229 yards, par 70).
The fact that the greens are of a similar excellent standard to the main course is a big plus, and the presence of water features adds an extra challenge and beauty to the game.
If you don’t have enough time for a full 18 holes at Alyth or Glenisla, playing just the 9 holes at Glenisla is a great option.
You can still enjoy a quality golfing experience without committing to a longer round.
For those winter golfers, the course benefits from no mats and full greens.
Hole 1 - Barry Hill
No.1 - Par 4
A blind tee shot to a generous fairway, with more room on the left side. A good drive leaves a slightly downhill approach to the green which is very wide, but narrow from front to back.

Hole 2 - Kirk Spire
No.2 - Par 3
A wonderful view to the picturesque town of Alyth from the elevated tee.
The tee shot plays downhill to a large, fairly flat green, but beware of the bunkers to the left and right sides.

Hole 3 - St Fink
No.3 - Par 4
A testing left to right dogleg par 4 that requires a good drive to reach the brow of the hill and give a sight of the green. Accuracy is required with the downhill approach to the green as deep bunkers await any errant shots on both sides.

Hole 4 - Lindsay’s Hame
No.4 - Par 4
An inviting tee shot, with more room on the right side than can be seen from the tee. The approach is played to a long, undulating green which slopes from back to front. Make sure you take plenty of club to carry the burn which lies in wait at the front and right side of the green.

Hole 5 - Alyth Burn
No.5 - Par 4
A straight away tee shot from the elevated tee. Beware of the water hazard slightly short and left of the green, but play too safe and a bunker on the right side awaits an errant approach.

Hole 6 - Johnny’s Folly
No.6 - Par 4
A long, accurate tee shot is required to reach the corner of the dogleg which turns sharply to the right. The approach shot to the large and undulating green must be well struck to avoid the fairway bunker short and left. The greenside bunker on the front right side is one to avoid!

Hole 7 - The Monster
No.7 - Par 5
The 7th hole is over 600 yards from the back tee and is aptly named "The Monster"! The tee shot doglegs from right to left, with fairway bunkers awaiting on the right side and a bunker that is not seen from the tee on the left corner that will catch the big hitters who go for the "tiger line". The landing area for a lay up shot is narrow and protected on both sides by long fairway bunkers. Avoid these and you will be rewarded with an inviting approach shot to a large green that slopes from right to left.

Hole 8 - Devil’s Elbow
No.8 - Par 4
A short dogleg left to right par 4 that requires both accuracy and correct club selection from the tee. Anything short from the tee will leave a blind approach shot to the green, whilst anything too long may result in you being blocked by the large trees at the end of the fairway. A well judged tee shot will leave a short, downhill approach to the green, which is protected by bunkers on both sides.

Hole 9 - Pud’s Dyke
No.9 - Par 3
A beautiful par 3, but not one for the faint hearted as water looms up the left side to just short of the green! Take enough club to avoid the water hazard and the small bunker on the front left. A par is not guaranteed, even if you manage to hit the green. The putting surface is large and undulating with a slope from back to front.
